With this leather pricking iron from Oka of Japan, you can produce diamond-shaped stitch holes in your leather smoothly and efficiently. As a result of this leathercraft tool's sharp and tempered prongs, it penetrates leather more cleanly and professionally, enabling you to produce more beautiful stitch lines. Instead of marking leather, this pricking iron pierces it, eliminating the need for an awl and decreasing the time it takes to create stitch holes. Punch holes in your work using this tool to create consistent, evenly spaced, and symmetrically slanted stitch lines. This six-pronged stitch punch is ideal for long, straight edges of your leather as it will punch multiple stitch holes simultaneously. The sizes of Oka pricking irons are etched on the handle so you can quickly figure out the one you need for your leatherwork. Please remember that the prongs on this tool are highly tempered, which makes them extremely hard and allows them to be used for an extended period of time. Tempering hardens the prongs, but makes them somewhat brittle, allowing them to break off rather than bend when damaged. While this may not appear to be ideal, it is a beneficial feature because if the prongs become misaligned, they will break off, instead of bending, preventing permanent damage to your leatherwork.
